Corseford Short Breaks provides a respite service for the disabled children of Scotland. We offer overnight stays as well as day-time breaks, after-school care, and holiday care for young people between ages 5 and 21, who have additional or complex care and support needs.
Corseford Short Breaks is an exciting and vibrant service, based within Corseford School, in Kilbarchan, Johnstone.
The main focus at Corseford Short Breaks is to provide a fun and positive environment where young people can thrive and grow, and provide some breathing space for families as well. We love supporting young people in meaningful experiences and enjoy taking trips to interesting places.
We know that everyone deserves the right to experience and question the world around them, learning and choosing what is right for them, and we work to support our young people to do this and to be as independent as possible.
Our staff at Corseford Short Breaks work with families to ensure the delivery of holistic care and support and a great quality of life for the young people we meet. We're passionate about person-centred care planning, and 'Getting it Right for Every Child' (GIRFEC).
Many of the young people we meet have differing and complex care needs, and our team are highly skilled and trained well to support these needs.
We're a communication-positive environment and actively encourage all young people to make their own choices about how they communicate with us and with each other. We support a variety of communication methods and enjoy developing these skills with the young people we meet.
