November 2022: Blackmount Private Wealth
Capability Scotland has been chosen as the new charity partner of Blackmount Private Wealth, a Glasgow-based wealth management firm. The care and support charity, with over 20 locations across the country, will receive an annual percentage of the firm’s profits, helping to enhance the lives of disabled people.
Brian Logan, Capability Scotland’s Chief Executive, met with Directors of the Firm, Alex Shairp and Qasim Younis to launch the partnership last week at Capability Scotland’s Corseford Campus in Johnstone. Mr Logan said, “With statutory funding for services that support disabled people becoming increasingly under pressure, securing donations and working in partnership with firms like Blackmount Private Wealth enables our charity to go above and beyond, providing additional resources and offering bespoke care, support and education to the people we support.”
The charity recently opened Scotland’s first ever further education college for young adults with complex and additional needs, filling a gap for school leavers whose needs cannot be met in mainstream colleges. Donations from corporate organisations like Blackmount Private Wealth will help in improving the college’s offering for its pilot years and beyond.
The Directors of Glasgow firm, Mr Shairp and Mr Younis, commented, “We’re proud to support Capability Scotland to provide essential services within our local communities. Establishing this charity partnership allows us to donate a share of our profits and volunteer some of our time, skills, and expertise to help the charity continue delivering its good work.”
