Monika Macalba

Monika is a Chartered Marketer and Student Communications & Engagement Manager at Heriot-Watt University, with a background in marketing, communications and engagement. Her work focuses on understanding people’s needs and finding more effective ways to engage with them.

Her own experience of partial hearing loss and wearing hearing aids contributed to her interest in supporting a disability charity. She was particularly drawn to Capability Scotland’s ethos and its belief in enabling people to make their own choices and fulfil their potential. Monika is passionate about shaping services and communications with the people who use them, a principle she brings to her role as Trustee.
