Do you have a passion for supporting young adults with complex needs? Are you ready to step into a role that combines hands-on care with leadership and quality improvement? Corseford College, part of Capability Scotland, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Enhanced Student Support Worker to join our innovative and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role

As an Enhanced Student Support Worker, you’ll provide both high-quality personal support and leadership within our student support team. This is a dual role where you’ll work directly with students (up to 20 hours/week) while also supporting quality systems, staff development, and best practice across the College.

What You’ll Do

  • Support students in learning sessions, care routines, and wider College life.

  • Lead on quality improvement and day-to-day support operations.

  • Assist with student transitions, engagement activities, and personal learning support planning (PLSPs).

  • Use communication strategies (including AAC) to empower student voice and participation.

  • Mentor and guide less experienced staff.

  • Collaborate with external professionals and contribute to PBS plans.

  • Optionally provide transportation support as a volunteer driver.

  • SVQ Level 3 (or working towards) in Health Care, Social Care, or Special Education.

  • SSSC registered (or eligible)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Experience & Skills:

  • Experience supporting young adults with complex needs in social care or education

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, equality, and relevant health & safety legislation

  • Reflective, flexible practitioner with a focus on high-quality support

  • Ability to lead by example and mentor others

  • Strong digital literacy and experience with assistive technologies

Personal Qualities:

  • Self-motivated, compassionate, and committed to inclusion

  • Team player with a proactive mindset
