Make a Difference Every Day

At Capability Scotland, we put disabled people at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to empower people with complex physical and learning disabilities to live independently, achieve their goals, and enjoy full, meaningful lives in their homes and communities.

We’re looking for compassionate, motivated Support Workers/Community Living Assistants to join our friendly, creative teams in our Upper Springland Campus, Perth.

About the Role

You’ll support adults with physical, learning or complex support disabilities in either our:

-Residential services – supporting people in their own private apartments and wider community, set in beautiful grounds
-Purpose-built Day Centre Hub – with sensory equipment, adapted kitchen, craft spaces and much more!
-Community Outreach – helping people live independently in their own homes and take part in community life.

You’ll work in bright, accessible environments with outstanding facilities, including:

  • Hydrotherapy pool
  • Rebound therapy suite
  • Accessible gym
  • Sensory and activity spaces
  • Idyllic gardens and outdoor areas

What You’ll Be Doing – Support Worker/Community Living Assistant

Every day is different, but you may:

  • Provide personal care, medication support, and mealtime assistance with dignity and respect
  • Support people to take part in meaningful activities — arts & crafts, baking, music, ICT, sports, cinema trips, theatre visits, shopping, football, even rock climbing
  • Enable people to achieve personal goals and build independence
  • Work one-to-one and in group settings
  • Develop and follow person-centred care plans
  • Complete records, risk assessments, and report changes professionally

We love team members who bring a skill or passion to share, music, baking, arts, tech, sport. Your interests can open up new experiences for the people we support.

Who We’re Looking For:

You’ll ideally have experience in:

  • Adult social care, day centres, residential or community support
  • Supporting people with Autism, Acquired Brain/Spinal Injuries, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, or similar needs
  • Personal care and medication support
  • Enabling participation in hobbies and community activities
  • Person-centred planning and record keeping

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience with AAC or Makaton
  • Driving licence (some roles include driving adapted manual vehicles — travel costs covered for community support)

Most importantly, you’re kind, patient, creative, and passionate about helping people live great lives.

Hours & Flexibility

Tell us your availability and we’ll try and find the right fit. We are a 24/7 service and offer:

  • Contracts from relief-bank to 37 hours per week
  • Day service hours typically Monday–Friday, 9:30am–3:30pm (great for work–life balance)
  • Day, back, and night shifts available in residential and outreach services.
  • Clear rolling rotas so you can plan your life outside of work.
