Personal Assistant

James is a 68-year-old gentleman who lives in Stranraer and is an amputee and has a visual impairment. James has also had previous strokes, blood clots in his legs and is bordering on diabetic. He currently receives 25.5 hours of personal care support weekly. However, from the 5th July – 31st July he will have no care and will need someone to support him during those 3 weeks with his personal care tasks. James is under medication level C, meaning he will need to be supported to administer his medication as he cannot do so independently. Candidate will receive full handover from current PA.

Duties –

- Support with personal care i.e to get out of bed in the morning, get dressed, breakfast, exercise assistance, showering, meals, getting to bed and medication.

Hours of work

- 25.5 hours per week (Mon – Sun) for 3 weeks for PA cover:

Morn – 45 mins for getting out of bed and breakfast and medication. 30 mins for exercise assistance.

Lunch – 30 mins to prepare meal, toileting, medication etc.

Afternoon – 30 mins for exercise assistance.

Tea – 45 min to prepare meal, toileting, medication etc.

Bed – 30 mins to support to bed and medication.

Terms of the role

- £12.60 per hour

- Paid annual leave

- PVG required
