Carol is a 77-year-old woman who lives in Dumfries and has a diagnosis of probable Bulbar MND, Fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis, previous TIA and Dysarthria. Due to those serious and debilitating conditions, Carol is increasingly struggling to manage personal care tasks daily. Carol is a very sociable lady but has recently lost confidence when out and about due to her Dysarthria that causes her speech to be slurred. Looking for someone who can support Carol in her home with PC tasks but also work with her to become more confident and sociable again.
Duties
- Support with PC tasks such as getting out of bed, dressed, showered and meal preparation.
- Any support for client that falls under personal care
Qualities and skills required:
Drivers License preferred
- Reliable
- Experience in Adult Care
- Strong Character and sensitive to client’s needs and conditions
- Great sense of humour
- Ability to use own initiative
- Flexible
- Person-centred approach
- Must have a clean driving license
- Female only – age range 30’s preferred by client
(Females only need apply as permitted under Schedule 9, part 1 of the Equality Act 2010)
Hours of work
- 6 hours per week can be flexible with times/days upon discussion
Terms of the role
- £12.60 per hour
- Paid annual leave (5.6 weeks pro rota)
- PVG required
