About Our Service

Capability Scotland is a well-established and respected
provider of community-based facilitation services
throughout Dumfries and Galloway. In the past three years
we have grown from a small but very well established and
respected service to that of a major contributor to the
provision of care and support across Dumfries and the
wider region. We pride ourselves on our creativity,
flexibility, and willingness to think outside the box with the
support we offer. 

Within Dumfries & Galloway we provide: 

  • Self-Directed Support brokerage
  • Payroll Service
  • Wrap-around rehabilitation service for people with an Acquired Brain Injury
  • Community facilitation service for people with physical disabilities

We currently have a vacancy for an SDS Link Practitioner within our brokerage service.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy SDS
brokerage team as an SDS Link Practitioner. Following
confirmation of funding from The Scottish Government,
Support in the Right Direction initiative we are looking
forward to further developing our service to deliver our
agreed self-directed support outcomes.

 Our service will focus on:

  • Providing self-directed support information and advice through a variety of approaches.
  • Providing accessible information around SDS rights and legislation.
  • Providing practical and informed support around SDS outcome planning, at the earliest opportunity.
  • Providing informal advocacy.
  • Supporting people to get the most out of their care.
  • Championing SDS within the local community and empowering individuals to make informed decisions around their care needs.
  • Providing practical support around becoming an employer to personal assistants.

We are looking for someone who is keen to promote the
benefits of Self-Directed Support, who will implement
national policy into practice at a local level, while
maintaining a positive environment and high-quality
service. This role is ideal for someone who wants to put
their values and vision into practice.
